What we’re about

It's not that we are anti-pedestrian. We'll walk if we have to but life is better on roller skates.

This group is for people who love to skate or want to learn how. All levels are welcome and events are tailored based on individual needs. For the uninitiated there will be informational meetings on a very flat surface - probably the tennis court at the high school - to go over the things you need to get started. This includes selecting skates and wheels, lacing up, protective gear, forwards skating, and stops. After you have had a chance to build confidence we will cover the importance of engaging your core, transitions, and backwards skating.

All skaters will be assessed to determine there eligibility for skating the rail trail. This is for your protection, and to ensure that we can stay together as a group while skating.

Meetings for intermediate and advance skaters will convene at the start of the rail trail in Ayer. There will be frequent stops depending on the circumstances how everyone is feeling. Events will be cancelled in the event of rain or even the chance of rain. We don't want our bearings to rust and wheel don't grip on moss under the trees when it becomes wet.

In keeping with tradition skater names are encouraged but not required.
