Strap on your hiking boots, WE’RE DOING A CHALLENGE.

(Partial participation is also encouraged if you don’t want to do all three peaks 🙂 I’ll post updates in the comments section of what time we are heading to the next peak or are heading to Firestone Grill)

Let’s carpe diem this upcoming Winter Solstice with a little challenge on the shortest day of the year: hike Bishop’s Peak, Madonna Peak (aka Cerro San Luis) and the Cal Poly P peak (hehe) with me in a race against daylight!

According to tradition, we are to celebrate at Firestone Grill with victory sandwiches and libations!

There are many variations to this challenge but the general consensus was this was the most often used trio of peaks.

Be aware, this challenge includes hiking close to 10 miles in one day. I’m making the event now so there is time to prepare should you choose to join (I know I need the preparation). Eddie from our group continues to host hikes almost every Wednesday so if you’re looking for a place to start training, I highly encourage you to attend his hiking events! Weekend Hikers and Beyond is also another great MeetUp group that puts on hikes regularly.

We will be meeting on the Patricia Dr side of Bishop’s Peak for the first hike, then go to P trail and finish with Madonna. Carpooling and deodorant is highly encouraged. Hope to see you all there!
