Brisk Hike Walnut Hill Park 2 Day - Rez is closed - w/ a diner after - Let's go!

We will walk briskly on the paved and dirt trails for about 1.5 hours. We vary our route each week a bit and walk about 3.5 miles.

For liability reasons, please be sure you are a member or guest of a member (or guest of a member) of our group and have RSVP'd Yes to attend this hike. No exceptions, please and thanks! :o)

Why walk here? Why the heck not!!??

The trails are beautiful with some gradual hilly spots!

When you drive in through the front gate, turn left into the parking area and park anywhere. We will wait for everyone by the large blue light on the yellow pole at the beginning of the main trail. Look for the black metal bench next to the pole.

A nature lover's paradise, the area features 3,000 acres of beautiful forestland; there are more than 30 miles of paved and gravel roads for joggers and bicyclists, hiking trails. This will make it easy to find the hiking group.

After the hike, please join us at the "Gold Roc Diner" in West Hartford. We all drive over in a "caravan" after the hike and others are welcome to join us there. Please tell us on your RSVP. Very reasonable prices for good food!

Well behaved adults, children and dogs on leashes are welcome on this reservoir event. Be sure to bring your scooper or baggie as they have convenient disposal bins on the trail. http://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/smileys/smile.gif

The entrance to the West Hartford Reservoir is located on the north side of Route 4 (Farmington Avenue) 1420 Farmington Avenue, Route 4 West Hartford, CT 06107

This is accurate on GPS or Google maps From the East and West: Take I-84 to Exit 39 (Route 4). At the end of the ramp take a right at the light onto Route 4 East towards Hartford. At the sixth light 2 and 1/2 miles, take a left into the Facility. From the North and South: Take I-91 South or North to I-84 West and follow the directions above.
