• Talk 1: Breaking Free: Container Escape Techniques for Beginners
• Presented by: Dejan Zelic, Senior Penetration Testing Engineer at AWS
• In this talk, we'll demystify container escape techniques for security professionals new to container technology. Starting with the fundamentals of how containers work — covering namespaces, cgroups, and isolation mechanisms. We'll build a solid foundation for understanding container security boundaries. We'll then explore common security misconfigurations and vulnerabilities that can lead to container escapes, including privileged containers, exposed runtime sockets, and shared Namespaces.
• Talk 2: Secure by Design: DevSecOps in practice for financial transactions in the cloud
• Presented by: Shrini Kulkarni, Senior Architect/Principal Engineer at FastSpring
• Ever wonder what it takes to secure DevSecOps for financial transactions in the cloud? Shrini Kulkarni takes us behind the scenes of his expertise with the practical application of DevSecOps principles, and the application of OWASP principles. This is a real-world look at security in action where every transaction counts.

SPEAKER BIOS

• Shrini Kulkarni is a Senior Architect/Principal Engineer for FastSpring (Digital E-commerce and payments platform). He has over 20 years of experience in software engineering, cloud computing, IT and network security applied currently in designing, building and operating full stack applications and fine-tuning FastSpring's payments platform architecture. His daily security side focus includes web application firewalls, resource hardening, PCI and SOC2 compliance, security audits and incident management. Prior work in Motorola, Garmin, Amazon/AWS and a Masters Degree in CS from Arizona State.
• Dejan Zelic is a Senior Penetration Testing Engineer at Amazon Web Services, where he works on the Pre-Launch Security team to help secure services before they’re released. Previously, he was a content developer at OffSec, where he co-authored the Advanced Web Attacks and Exploitation (AWAE/OSWE) course, WEB-200, and contributed to the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) training. In his free time, Dejan enjoys tinkering with home automation projects and playing soccer. He does not enjoy writing bios—at all.
