Joint Android / iOS meetup

Details

Hi everybody,

Short notice, but Andrew Kozlik (who founded the iOS meetups in Orlando) and I thought we might try something different. Since we're at the end of the month we're going to do a joint iOS/Android meetup. We'll have two presentations, both of which are outlined below. Both talks are relevant to both meetup groups, and it will be great to bring together the mobile development community.

IP PROTECTION FOR APP DEVELOPERS

Did you ever try fitting a square peg into a round hole? Sometimes that is how it feels when you’re trying to protect the intellectual property of the software you are developing. Donna Chesteen will help you understand a little bit more about this complicated area of the law by giving you the highlights of patents, copyrights, “copylefts,” trade secrets, and NDAs.
Donna holds a BS and an MS in Computer Science and also earned an MBA before attending law school. She has twenty years professional software engineering experience – the last twelve at Symantec in Heathrow, FL. Prior to Symantec, she held software engineering positions in a wide variety of industries. In her first position after college, Donna worked as a contractor for the Naval Oceanographic Office at the Stennis Space in Mississippi where she worked on search-and-rescue software for the Naval Oceanographic Office. Later she moved to Florida and worked on software to support an ambulatory heart monitor. Next, she engineered CAD-format-viewing software and was a major contributor to a graphic user interface to manage SCSI devices. As Senior Principal Sofware Engineer at Symantec, Donna was a member of both the user interface and server teams for Symantec Backup Exec.
