The Florida Landscape

Details
Central Florida has some hidden treasures and Orlando Wetlands Park is one of them, especially at sunrise and in the early morning light. This is our first meetup event and it will give me an idea of everyone’s (who attends) skill level. Some of you I already know, but there are others I do not. Yes, you all answered the questions in the profile, but I still would like to hear the questions and see where each of you is (photographically speaking of course) for myself during this short session. In this meetup we’ll focus on landscape work, make sure everyone understands image format, the hyperfocal distance for their particular camera and lens set up as well as how to use it for maximizing depth of field in their images. Yes, we will also review the basic camera settings and compositional techniques for landscape work.
Please feel free to work in color, black and white (monochrome) or infrared. My preference is for all of you to work from a tripod to slow down the pace of things and make images that are more “deliberate”. Additionally, the plan is to make this the one lens/focal length challenge. When I first broke into photography years ago “during the film days”, I worked only with a 50 mm for an entire month and then went to a 135mm for the next month until I knew each lens forward and backwards.
Please make sure you have sturdy walking shoes even though the terrain is flat and level. Also, please bring water, snacks and other items you may need.
In the event of inclement weather, the alternate date will be 3 February 2024.
Cancellation policy – Should you need to cancel, there will be a full refund, excluding any transfer/Paypal charges (which will be detailed for you) up to the 10th day prior to the workshop, in this case 17 January 2024 is that date. After that, refunds, under the same conditions mentioned, will be made if your workshop spot can be filled by someone on the waiting list or another Meetup member. If the event is organizer cancelled, full refunds will be issued to registered attendees.
Once registered, each attendee will receive a waiver of liability to be completed and returned prior to the workshop. Without the waiver of release, you will not be able to participate in the workshop.
