Photographing the Milky Way and Star Trails

Details
This is part two of a double workshop!
For this workshop, I have been able to reserve two (2) telescope pads holding twelve (12) attendees.
As the sun and the moon set, the first gas clouds of the Milky Way, our home in the Cosmos, will become visible and ready for us to photograph. Other planets will rise above the Western horizon during the night with another large portion of the Milky Way coming into view. Light meters will not help you here, we will learn to focus during the daylight and apply that during the night. During the night, your manual exposure will be based on a mathematical calculation I will share with you on location. If you have a telescope – feel free to bring it along! Supplemental Instructions about equipment, telescope pad protocols and state park rules will be emailed to each confirmed attendee upon return of the waiver of liability.
Please feel free to work in color or black and white (monochrome) during this workshop. Exposures will be long, so tripods will be a must along with intervalometers. We will use the "Bulb" setting for star trail images and exposures up to (and beyond) 25 minutes.
Cancellation policy – there will be a full refund, excluding any transfer/funding charges (which will be detailed for you) up to the 10th day prior to the workshop in this case 22 May 2024. After that, refunds under the same conditions will be made if your workshop spot can be filled by someone on the waiting list or another meetup member.
Once registered, each attendee will receive a waiver of liability to be completed and returned prior to the workshop. Without the waiver of release, you will not be able to participate in the workshop.
