Lewis Park and Trails (with Picnic)

Lewis Park and Trails is a popular place in Springfield for hiking and mountain biking. This trail borders the Sangamon Valley Trail, in a wooded area just off of Koke Mill Road. We will explore the Lewis trails, make our way out onto the SVT, then back onto the trail system to return to the trailhead. The trails are fully shaded but bugs can be present, especially near the small creek that runs through this park. The Lewis portion of the trail is not paved, so wet conditions usually means a few muddy spots.

Enter the parking lot and then go left to park near the trail head. Look for my red Toyota Land Cruiser. There is a porta-potty at the trailhead.

The Après will be a BYO picnic at the tables in the covered area next to the parking lot. Bring whatever you want to eat and drink, and if you want to bring extra to pass around...then Good On Ya, Mate!
