Sangamon Valley Trail, Green Valley to the Sangamon River

Super-easy trail, as it's a flat rails-to-trails path. These wide paved paths are not challenging but are nice for walking and chatting. In the past, we've met at the Stuart Dog Park and carpool to the trailhead, but for this walk we will meet AT the trailhead on Green Valley Drive. The parking lot is small, so I encourage carpooling. Our walk will go north and cross the huge bridge over the Sangamon River, then continue on for another mile or so. We should be able to get in 4 miles for our hike. Since we will just be past daylight savings time, it may still get a little dark towards the end of the walk, so be sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight!

Look for my red Toyota Land Cruiser in the parking area at Green Valley. Please park close to each other to allow as many vehicles as possible. Please be on time as we need to start promptly at 5:30 in order to maximize our daylight.
