Springfield Holiday City Walk

Since most of the local trails are only open sunrise-sunset, the early sunset in winter leaves us few options for an after-work hike. So we'll go with the flow and do a nice 2-3 mile walk that winds through the Springfield downtown area to take advantage of the street lights and enjoy the decorations. I'll lay out a route that passes most of the major sites, like the Capitol Building, the Old State Capitol, Union Station, the Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Governor's Mansion and the major shopping streets where the Holiday Spirit is in full force.
We'll begin at the parking lot next to the Myers Building at the corner of 4th and Washington...SE corner. We'll end our walk at one of the downtown restaurants and have our usual apres party.

Apres' hike location: La Piazza Cucina Italiana, 218 S 6th St. We will end the walk here, it's just 3 blocks from the parking lot where we start. La Piazza will have a room for us with an Italian buffet. Please sign up for this on the separate Meetup event.
