June Lightning Talks

Details

Join us for the June CIJUG meetup on Thursday June 19th, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, hosted at Source Allies for a fast-paced, informative evening of learning and networking with fellow developers. We’ll feature a series of lightning talks on various topics related to Java and software development. This event will provide valuable insights from experts in the field!

Alex McClure will talk on optimizing logs for better observability. If you’ve ever struggled to make sense of complex logs, Alex will offer tips on using consistent log levels, mapped diagnostic contexts, and middleware to help you understand how your apps and systems are performing.

Kyle Wagner will introduce JSONata, a powerful tool for querying and transforming JSON data. Kyle will compare JSONata with JSONPath and show how it simplifies working with AWS Step Functions, making it easier to handle complex data flows.

John Lengeling will be speaking on understanding and reading Java stack traces. If you manage a Java application, this talk will help you diagnose issues and pinpoint errors to improve your app’s stability and performance.

Carter Winton will present his "Lessons Learned in Technical Consulting", an interactive walk-through of why projects and/or products fail or succeed. What works, what doesn't and how can we as people involved in delivery ensure success?

Hope you can join us to learn at lightning speed!
