What we’re about
Welcome. If you would like to discuss deeper matters and to explore and inquire in an open, friendly way, our group is for you!
Our weekly meetings are usually conducted on Zoom, but we meet face-to-face when we can.
Before joining our community, please read our **meeting guidelines on Facebook.**The purpose of the guidelines is to create an environment where participants may look within themselves and safely share their experiences.
Our meetings begin with a brief check-in, where each participant may share for a minute or two, what is happening in their life/what is on their heart or mind.
Often we use a book to focus our discussions. The volunteer leader for a given meeting develops a set of questions from the book, in order to help us look within ourselves. Books we’ve recently read include: No Boundary; Silence Speaks; Solid Ground of Being; Lovingkindness; The Tools; The Places that Scare You; A Path with Heart; The Power of Now; and A New Earth. As we draw near to the end of each book, members are invited to bring in books which they feel have value. From those books we select one to discuss at our meetings for the following months.
At other times volunteer leaders choose special topics for the benefit of the group. Recent examples: meditations, yoga practice, video and audio recordings; Nonviolent Communication; personal experiences with 12-step programs.
Sometimes we go out to hear a spiritual teacher. And on occasion we will get together just to socialize and have fun.
