CANCELLED A Walk in the Lee Valley Park (Bacteria Trail)

Details
Cancelled for this year. Hope to reschedule when safe to do so.
This easy walk is about 4.5 miles (8km) long and very flat. Walkers who plan to bring a pushchair, use a wheelchair or simply don’t want to walk up slopes, then this is the trail for you. Young families are especially welcome.
Starting at Broxbourne Station at about 1.30pm, we walk along the side of the River Lea Navigation and through some woods. If you are generally interested in flora and fauna, you’ll find much to see. We plan an early stop at about 1.45pm for a snack lunch at a café along the way, but you can bring your own packed lunch if you prefer. Towards the end of our route, we will converge with other Ancestor’s Trail walkers at about 4.30pm and together we’ll continue to our final destination at The Maltsters pub, close to Cheshunt Station.
We have booked a private room at the pub and will be serving tea and cakes. Of course, being a pub, a full bar will also be available. You are welcome to join us in listening to talks by some scientist colleagues and many of us will be staying on into the evening for a soiree.
The Bacteria Trail is part of the Ancestor’s Trail, an annually occurring event inspired by Richard Dawkins’ popular science book, the Ancestor’s Tale. To find out more please go to the overall event Meetup page : https://www.meetup.com/Central-London-Humanists/events/263686957/
