An Evening with Peter Tatchell Champion of Human Rights

We are delighted to welcome this month’s very special guest, Peter Tatchell, for an evening of conversation and insight into his lifetime of activism.

Peter has been a fearless advocate for human rights, LGBT equality, global justice, and civil liberties for over 57 years. He is the Director of the Peter Tatchell Foundation, and a patron of Humanists UK.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Peter began campaigning in 1967, inspired by figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sylvia Pankhurst, and Martin Luther King. His activism has spanned continents and causes, from coordinating the Reclaim Pride march to proposing ground-breaking reforms at the United Nations, including a Global Human Rights Index and a binding UN Human Rights Convention.

In 2021, Peter's extraordinary life and work were captured in the Netflix documentary Hating Peter Tatchell. You can view the trailer here.

Before the talk there will be time to meet our members, guests and enjoy refreshments from our charity snack bar. All profits from the wine & snack bar will be donated to a selected charity of the speaker's choosing.

Our speaker events are free, but we kindly ask for a £5 contribution per head. This helps towards the hire of the venue and equipment, and various other admin expenses. If you can't attend and would still like to contribute, or would prefer to pay online, please click here.
