MASS LOBBY FOR CLIMATE AND NATURE
ACT NOW, CHANGE FOREVER

This national Lobby of Parliament, calling for effective action on climate change and the environment, is being organised by The Climate Coalition, to which Humanists UK is affiliated.

We are very keen to have a strong and visible Humanist presence at the event and will be attending in collaboration with Humanist Climate Action. Please can you support it, take part, and engage with your MP?

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
1. Register with The Climate Coalition to say that you want to attend. You need to do that here. The Coalition will be arranging the times and venues of the meetings for each MP, and will send you that information.

2. Contact your own MP to say that you will be attending and would like to meet them.

3. Let Humanist Climate Action know that you will be taking part. Email them at climateaction@humanists.uk.

ON THE DAY
We will meet outside the Queen Elizabeth II Centre at 11 am for our own Humanist group photo, before heading to the general photo-call at 11.30 in Parliament Square. As some people might not be able to make it for 11, we will also welcome attendees to join us in Parliament Square after the photo-call there.

The meetings with MPs will be in Smith Square Hall, in Methodist Central Hall, and in Parliament itself. You will be informed which of these is the location for your meeting with your MP.

As well as meetings with MPs, there will be other activities through the day, including talks, stalls, and spaces to get together. The main venue for these will be the QEII Centre, opposite Westminster Abbey, which will serve as the central hub for the day.

When you contact your MP, it would be good to flag up that you’re taking part as a Humanist – as someone who believes that as human beings we have to take responsibility for the future of humanity and the planet, because no “higher power” will sort things out for us.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT
If you can’t get to London on the day, you can contact your MP and ask to meet them locally. It would be good to do this close in time to the Mass Lobby, maybe on Friday 11 or Saturday 12 July when most MPs will be back in their constituencies.

These are events that CLH chooses to promote and encourage our members to attend, and for which the organiser is another group. In this case, the organisers are The Climate Coalition.

What to bring
People: We need numbers! Politicians can’t ignore that the public overwhelmingly supports green change. Please, ask friends, family, and loved ones to come with you.

What can I do?
Tweet your support! And post on social media. Email everyone nearby.
Join us on the day! Together, we can make a difference and create a healthier world and society.
