Hang On, Is That Actually True? Misinformation Lab: Reading Between the Lies

We're bombarded daily with headlines, statistics, and viral posts designed to make us feel something before we've had a chance to think. This interactive workshop gives you the tools to spot the difference between real reporting and manipulation — and the confidence to call it out.
Led by science and political debunker Emma Monk, you'll get hands-on practice spotting misinformation in the wild: faked headlines, selectively cropped images, misused statistics, misrepresented studies, and the sneaky trick of dressing up opinion as fact. Working through real examples pulled straight from the news, you'll learn to ask the right questions every time a claim crosses your feed — what's the narrative? What context is missing? What am I being asked to feel?

About your host
