Knox Mountain Hike - CONC's Weekend Explorers

Details

Ian will lead a hike around the top of Knox Mountain this Saturday, June 28th. We will start at 9:00 AM, meeting at the southernmost end of Rio Dr. S (See: https://maps.app.goo.gl/926vfsVCGGwbnPDz5 ). The exact route will depend on weather and peoples' preferences, but will include a swing past Kathleen Lake. There are several options to shorten/lengthen the hike as seems appropriate to the day. Our goal is to complete the hike by noon.

The forecast may change, but the current weather projection suggests no precipitation, with a daytime high of about 25°C. The highest and lowest points on our potential route differ by about 140 m elevation. If we opt for a short hike we will walk about 3.6 km; the longest version is 6.3 km.

Wear good hiking boots. The sun is very strong these days - so apply some sunscreen, and don’t forget a hat and sunglasses.

Note - ticks are active - so plan accordingly. If you do pick up a tick, here’s a link to reliable advice from BC Health:
