Weekend Explorers: “Birding By Bike”
Kelowna Waterfront

A recent email from the Kelowna Area Cycling Coalition notes that the Fall "Go By Bike Week" will kick-off on Sept 27th, thus it seems appropriate to incorporate some cycling into this month’s Weekend Explorers outing (Saturday, September 27th).

We will begin our birding/cycling and meet for sign-in adjacent to Sutherland Bay at 9:15 AM (at the Poplar Point Drive parking lot) . We will then cycle south along the Kelowna waterfront, with stops planned at Rotary Marsh, City Park, Mud Bay, and Truswell Park. Afterwards we will retrace our route back to Sutherland Bay.

No promises, but rarities often show up on the waterfront in September (e.g., Sabine’s Gull).

NOTE: Participation in our activities is voluntary and by joining an outing you acknowledge the risks of injuries that may arise. Full membership in our club includes coverage for Public Liability Insurance, but note that others are not covered. Information to become a full (paid) member can be found on our website (https://okanagannature.org/) and others will be asked to sign a waiver to participate in our outings (https://okanagannature.org/Visitor%20Waiver%202022.pdf).
