Women's Psychedelic Book Club
Drop Thesis, 505 NW Franklin Ave., Bend, OR, USWe are now reading The Power by Naomi Alderman.
In The Power, Naomi Alderman imagines a world suddenly transformed when women develop the ability to generate electricity from their bodies, a physical power that can harm, kill, and control. This new force spreads rapidly, flipping the balance of gendered power structures across the globe. As governments, religions, and social orders collapse or adapt, the story follows how this power transforms the lives of several characters.
We support ordering a copy from Dudley's Book Shop in Bend.

This is a 5 month coursePlease be mindful, this course will not get you anything… it will not certify you in anything…it will not make you qualified for anything in particular…it will not get you any closer to a licensed or “legal” practice. It will not protect you from the intrinsic and extrinsic risk involved in each and every psychedelic journey…
What this course will get you is something deeply lacking in 99% of the psychedelic “training” courses out there… real life, actual, hands on experience. Across the board with those new to facilitating and holding medicine work space this was what is needed the most…There is a severe lack of spaces for people learning to carry this work and develop skills and learn how to do it by actually doing it…so, this program is made to fill that need. I hope you’ll join us.
Next cohort starts November 11, 2024. Monday meetings are 5:30-7pm and Saturday time commitment varies.
Group Instruction and Discussion
Here, within a community of like-minded practitioners, journeyers, and eternal students you will dive deep into the theory and ethos of guiding transformative experiences. The flow and build of our classes mirror that of a psychedelic journey. Our curriculum, rich with insights and compassion, covers intake processes, preparation, integration, ceremony building, uncovering your own unique. skills and gifts, working with sacred tools, and how to put it all together into a cohesive practice model. Our non-directive leaning environment encourages feedback and discussion, and is constructed to help you deepen into carrying medicine work as you are exposed to concepts, ideas, and resources. Become familiar with handling, talking about, dosing, and conceptualizing 6 sacred entheogenic and emaptheogenic substances as you learn and develop your own personal tools, gifts, voice and boundaries. We aim to connect you to the spiritual essence of this work while grounding you in ethical and practical knowledge. Our empathetic instructors share their wisdom, guiding you through complexities and nuance with understanding and respect. Our ultimate goal is to see you cultivate a practice deeply rooted in integrity and reflective of your unique spirit and path.Practical Experience
Beyond the classroom, our program offers the rare opportunity to embody learnings through many opportunities for hands-on practical facilitation experience. Hands on experience is the only way to truly learn about and develop the ability to hold space for others with the required tenderness, compassion, non-judgement with firm and loving ethics and boundaries. The experience starts with screening and intake, preparation, setting up and navigating the journey, and integration stages with an experienced guide through one breath work journey and two medicine journeys. These, along with the classwork and discussion are meant to inspire, inform, and build confidence in each individuals’s unique facilitation style. Then will come the opportunity to facilitate, participate in, and observe a total of 6 journeys in small groups of peers. This makes a total of 9 hands-on experiences in sacred sessions for a week rounded and rich range of experiences. Integration and preparation will be held for each individual journey to discuss, receive feedback, and share insights and growth.4 attendees
