Fingers crossed this year. Last time, it was canceled due to snow via Woodpecker Ridge. But this time we’ll go on the Whitewater trail, finally open after the 2020 fires.
This is a favorite place of mine. Love Russell Lake and the other small lakes off the PCT. Fantabulous. Lots of trails to be explored on day 2 but we could also just hang out. I may bring my fly rod.
This event is open to intermediate and seasoned current backpackers who have been out on trail for a couple of multi night outings--ideally one or two times over the past year. It's not a real difficult hike, but the elevation gain over uncertain terrain carrying a full pack might be daunting for some.
