Cone Peak Trail Loop, 6.7 mi., 1847' eg. Group 2
Details
You want wildflowers? I'll give you wildflowers!! One of the best in the area. You'll want to join in on this one.
Reviews off the Alltrails webpage state (from early April) stated that there was only a little snow at the top part of the trail. By now, it should be gone. I've been there a couple of times. Also, there's reports of doable blowdown. My hiking buddy suggested we go counterclockwise--good call. Takes the heavy incline out of the hike. We will, however, be greeted with 10-11 switchbacks getting up to the meadow.
If you've not been there before, you are in for a treat. The views from deck at the top are stunning. Perfect, too, for a lunch break (and that's just what we'll do).
Dog friendly, but your doggy must be on leash.
I'll need a couple of drivers to volunteer their vehicles. It takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive at the trailhead. We all pitch in $10 for gas.
We park at the Tombstone Pass Sno Park.
The end time is approximate.
