ADHD & Sleep Issues: Parents of Children with ADHD
Up to 70 percent of children with ADHD have difficulty falling asleep. While there is no one cause of sleep problems, there is a great deal of research that showing that having sleep difficulties on top of ADHD makes life harder for children with ADHD and their families. Join us as Dr. Brandi Walker will speak on the importance of sleep for children and adolescents and its correlation to the symptoms of ADHD.
Dr. Walker is a graduate of Howard University and University of Maryland. She is an Army Clinical Psychologist and faculty member at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Dr. Walker is an active duty major in the US Army who works directly with service members and their families, in addition to developing initiatives and collaborations that are in sync with the Army’s holistic health and fitness programming. She has spent the last seven years working with various hospitals, clinics, and schools conducting research on children with ADHD, their family and various sleep variables, and environmental factors of influence. Dr. Walker does not represent the government, the DoD, or the US Army in any shape or form in this role.
