OUTDOOR RAPPELLING ADVENTURE - CHICKIES ROCK

This trip is awesome and will put you on the edge of your comfort zone!

This trip takes place at Chickies Rock, a premier climbing crag with cliffs over 100ft overlooking the eastern bank of the Susquehanna River in Lancaster County, PA. Geologically, Chickies Rock is the largest exposed Anticline (an arch of stratified rock in which the layers bend downward in opposite directions from the crest) on the east coast. A great spot for rappelling!

The main rappel stations are 85ft.

Valley to Summit, LLC is offering this awesome Outdoor Rappelling Adventure trip for $75 per person. You may bring your friends who are not members of this Meetup group at the same price per person. The outdoor rappelling adventures are designed for you to have a fun, memorable and heart-pounding outdoor experience. These trips are for all people; there is no better icebreaker for beginners than inching to the lip of the ledge and taking that final step over to begin your rappel. The day begins with on-the-ground review of climbing gear and rappelling techniques and risk management considerations.

The groups are generally limited to 12 participants and Valley to Summit generally maintains a guide-to-client ratio of 1:6, providing everyone with ample time to rappel and for individualized instruction.

Generally, each person can rappel at least 3 times. We start on the bottom of the cliff, hike up a gully and out onto an exposed ledge using a safety line, rappel 85ft. down and then hike back up to the rappel station. So you can generally rappel as many times as you want to hike back up the hill!

VTS provides all the gear: harnesses, helmets, ropes and hardware.
