Central Texas Portrait Collective: Kickoff Meetup

Hey Central Texas creatives! I’m excited to kick off our very first Central Texas Portrait Collective meetup in San Marcos!
When: Saturday, Oct 4th, 5:00 PM
Where: Tantra Coffeehouse (217 W Hopkins St, San Marcos, TX)
We’ll start by hanging out at Tantra from 5:00–5:45 PM as people arrive, grab a drink, and get to know each other. After that, we’ll take a relaxed walk to nearby parks and around town to shoot portraits. Along the way, we’ll stop whenever inspiration strikes to practice lighting, poses, and creative ideas.
Parking Note: Tantra’s lot is for customers staying inside, so please use nearby street parking or public lots. We’ll be leaving the coffeehouse after introductions, so it’s important to avoid parking in spaces that could get ticketed or towed.
This meetup is all about getting to know each other, experimenting, and just having fun creating portraits. Whether you’re a photographer, model, or love being in front of the camera, this is a friendly, low-pressure space to learn, share, and collaborate. All skill levels are welcome!
What to Bring: Your camera (any type is welcome!), curiosity, and your creative energy. Comfortable shoes are a plus for walking between locations.
Membership is free, and the only rule is respect, kindness, and a willingness to share and learn.
