Little Bites of A.T. Hikes Part 30: PunchBowl Overlook to James River, 10 miles)

We have already completed 200+ miles of the A.T. in VA and are continuing south. 10.0 miles, no beginners.

Shuttle hike from Punchbowl Mountain Overlook (Blue Ridge Parkway) to Snowden Boat Ramp at the James River. Will require 'at least' one other driver or I will cancel it.

This will be the final SINGLE DAY Little Bite ever....!

After this section we will need to backpack or stay at a central camp site as either way we will be 3 hours away from home base and 6 hours RT for single day hiking whether we go NOBO from Maryland or SOBO from this trailhead.

Pace will be closer to 2.0-2.5 mph if necessary.

Meeting at the trailhead does not work for this series.
I will match the group’s pace to that of the slowest hiker. Take note that this is a slower pace than some other hike series CVT does.
10.5 miles @ 2.2 mph = 5 hours of hike time.

Since these are shorter hikes, we combine them with OPTIONAL visits to local wineries for tastings and bon vivanterie.

Organizer will Provide: very basic first aid and send out additional hike details and carpool location the day before via email.

Dogs Allowed: NO

Bring a snack or lunch for the trail - we will stop and eat/rest in a nice spot. It is typical to contribute $$ to driver to defray the cost of gas prices.

Cancellation: If weather becomes an issue, please check your email or contact the "Adventure Specialist" for this event.

GENERAL DETAILS

RSVPS close FRIDAY June 27th (day before) the event. This provides time for organizer to organize, settle things, and notify all of group plans. Organizer will send a DM Friday with the carpool location (west end of Richmond VA).
