Water Conservation Talk with Deirdre Irwin - Monthly General Meeting

Join us as we talk about water conservation! As of May 5, most of the state, including Central Florida, is under severe to extreme drought conditions. What does this mean? Where does our water come from? What can we do as individuals in times like this? Deirdre Irwin joins us to shed light on this topical issue.

Deirdre Irwin is the Central Florida Water Initiative, Water Conservation Coordinator for the St. Johns River Water Management District. With over 3 years of experience with the district, she has worked with the agency’s surface water regulatory program, water resource education program, certification program development and water supply planning. Deirdre works closely with district staff in the development of regional water
supply plans and coordinates a regional utility conservation coordinator network.
Deirdre serves on the statewide Florida-Friendly Landscaping Advisory Committee and on the Board of the Florida Green Building Coalition. She also serves on the board of the National Green Builder Coalition. Deirdre is the 2024 recipient of the Alliance For Water Efficiency Water Star award.

All programs are held the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Programs are held from 7 - 9:00 pm. A brief discussion of environmental issues precedes the program along with information on upcoming outings and events.
