Modern Forehand (FH) Drive
Shoulder turn.
Relaxed arm and grip.
Keep your racquet on your frontside.
Elbow up, Pet, Legs, Pull/Flip
Imagine pulling your racquet and the pull “path” sort of resembles a Christmas candy cane. Pull straight toward your target, pull some more, eventually turn door knob left.
Prior routines allow your racquet to reach your backside which causes a circular path.

Overhead Experiment:
“You/Me.”
Point your left elbow at the lob. This induces you to turn while your left hand guides your racquet back.
Left elbow, footsteps, point, hit.
Say, “Elbow, feet, now complete.”
2/3 Speed, controlled placement.
Goal: Make 50+ in a row

Semi-Western grip for topspin.

Racquet head higher than your wrist.
Ready in “U” shape.
Shoulder turn.
High ball: High energy 8, finish point.
Low ball: Less energy 2, finesse/drop.
Aim for sharp angle, “Low and Slow.”
Fast ball: No time, so just BLOCK it.
Half Volleys: “Forward.”
Drop Shot (Dropper)
Delay and say, “Disguise to surprise.”
Lock your wrist, 90 degrees.
For backspin, pull high to low.
Say, “Hit a drop and make it stop.”

Pinpoint your feet.
Relax your arm. “Be water, my friend.”
Racquet palm toward you so that a side edge of your racquet “leads.”
Experiment:
Space your grip fingers more.
Bend your knees to jump higher.
Underhand side spin serve.
Return of Serve
1st: Get the ball back over the net.
Think USPS: “Return to Sender”
Forward “split, for better hit.”
Quick, brief backswing.
Generally return cross court.
Consider chip, volley your return.
Consider more lobs.
