Become the speaker and the leader you were destined to be!

Our Central Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop, where you can hone your speaking and leadership skills in a friendly atmosphere. Our group has 30 members who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Livingstone Tower, Strathclyde University.

Guests are warmly welcomed and can attend up to three meetings for free, in order that they can decide if the club is a good fit for them.

Here you will learn communication skills by having the opportunity to complete a wide range of tailored projects (depending on your own personal speaking goals). These include speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.

You will learn skills related to use of gestures, eye contact, speech organisation and overall delivery.

You will also learn leadership skills by taking on various meeting roles and serving as officers at the club and district levels. In our learn-by-doing approach, we don’t lecture our members about leadership skills.
Instead, we offer responsibilities and invite them to lead.

We offer positive and constructive feedback, to our members, in a safe and supported environment is a key to our success. Our members evaluate those who deliver a speech and give feedback on one another’s presentations.

Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings, serve as officers in various leadership roles and learn about timing and grammar.

If you are unsure about any aspect of our meeting, reach out, otherwise, we look forward to seeing you there!

Warm Regards from all at Central Toastmasters.
