Wildlife Photography Workshop

Details
Hi, my Name is Neil O'Reilly and I am a wildlife photographer. My interest in wildlife photography began about 10 years ago with the re-introduction of birds of prey such as the Red Kite into the Irish countryside after a long absence. I travelled to Co Wicklow to at first see these birds and then to try and photograph them. My passion for both birds of prey and photography grew and in 2016 I was awarded Nature Photographer of the Year by the Irish Photographic Federation. I have represented Ireland in international competition and an image of mine was used in a panel of images by Irish photographers that won the Celtic Cup in 2016. I am also a former president of Tallaght Photographic Society which is a photographic club that meets weekly and has members young & old that share a passion for photography.
Over the summer I am organising some nature photography workshops. The workshops will be run with Dublin Falconry based in Lutrellstown. The advantage of running the workshop with Dublin Falconry is that you are guaranteed some fantastic birds of prey to photograph. Due to the unpredictability of nature photography it is very hard to run a workshop in a real life situation as you would not be guaranteed birds or animals to photograph.
The Workshop will begin at 10.00 AM on Saturday 27th April.
10.00 AM - 12.00 AM Will be a talk on wildlife photography. Tips and hints on getting the image you want. Camera settings, Composition, field craft and where to photograph birds in Ireland will all be covered.
12.00 AM - 12.30 PM Lunch (not included in price)
12.30 PM - 2.30 PM With a selection of birds provided by Dublin Falconry we will practice technique for photographing perched birds and birds in flight. There will be a selection of birds from Owls to Hawks to photograph and they will be perched to give a natural look. We will also look at the best techniques for taking good images of birds in flight, possibly one of the hardest disciplines in photography.
2.30 PM - 4.30 PM - We will take a look at some photos taken in the session and explore the best ways to process your images in Photoshop and similar post processing programs.
The workshop is limited to 10 people and I will be repeating this workshop throughout the summer depending on demand.
Please note: This work shop is based on the weather being good enough for the birds to fly, heavy rain, wind or any other extreme conditions will mean a re-scheduling of the workshop.
I look forward to taking some pictures with you.
Neil
