Bias Against Atheists in the Political System (Grand Rapids)

Details
"Prejudice against atheists is pervasive in the United States. Atheists lag behind virtually all other historically disadvantaged groups on measures of social and political acceptance."
Join us as Andrew Franks discusses bias against atheists in the American political system and the degree to which atheism is a political liability.
Andrew Franks is a doctoral candidate in Applied Experimental Psychology at Central Michigan University, where he earned his M.S. in 2012 and is expected to complete his Ph.D. in 2015.
His research interests include sexuality, politics, and the law with a primary line of research aimed at understanding and remediating the lack of political acceptance for atheism and secularism in The United States.
His teaching experience includes courses in the developmental and social psychology content areas as well as applications of experimental research methods.
