Rationally Speaking, Episode 100: Julia & Massimo Answer Everything!
Join us for a live taping of the Rationally Speaking podcast (http://www.rationallyspeakingpodcast.org/) to celebrate our 100th episode! By now Julia and Massimo have explored topics ranging from “why be rational?” (episode 1) to “is anthropology (still) a science?” (episode 26), from “spirituality” (episode 55) to “Bad Pharma” (episode 84).
We have had a number of exciting guests, including Neil deGrasse Tyson (episode 5), Eugenie Scott (episodes 11 & 49), Steve Novella (episode 22), Rebecca Goldstein (episode 45), Patricia Churchland (episode 62), Chris Mooney (episode 79), Mario Livio (episode 88), and Paul Offit (episode 92), among many, many others.
So, now we feel that we area ready to answer everything, or at least to try. The show will feature a full hour of audience Q’s and Julia & Massimo’s A’s. Any topic in science, philosophy and the borderlands between the two will be fair game. Push us to think on our feet, and perhaps to admit our ignorance on stage! It’s going to be a fun, interactive afternoon to celebrate the podcast’s milestone.
And don’t forget to stick around after the show: beginning around 4pm there will be a social at Apple Restaurant, 17 Waverly Pl (just west of Washington Sq. park), where you can mingle with the Rationally Speaking crew, members of NYC Skeptics, and fellow critical thinkers!
Where: Jefferson Market Public Library, 425 Avenue of the Americas, btw 9th & 10th St.
When: Saturday, October 26, beginning at 2pm.
Organized by: New York City Skeptics (http://nycskeptics.org/) Sponsored by: Reasonable New York (http://www.reasonablenewyork.org/)
