🚣‍♂️ Lake Fran Cleanup 🚮

Please join Central Florida Recon (CFR) as we partner with Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB) to host a cleanup of Lake Fran. This event is part of a larger event hosted by KOB and CFR will be participating from the east shore of Lake Fran.

CFR has EIGHT kayaks and they are provided on a first to arrive, first to launch basis. If you have your own kayak or canoe, please bring it with you. We usually have more volunteers than we have kayaks. Once all kayaks have launched, we will have trash grabbers and buckets to share for walking volunteers. There is ample green space on the east side of Lake Fran and there is plenty of trash to pick up.

NO stand-up paddleboards for this event. A local told us that a large gator lives in this lake and has been named “Big Mac”.

The event is scheduled for two hours and at the end we will combine all trash, weigh it, open the CFR banner and take a group photo.

Wayfinding:
Enter 4780 Raleigh St in your GPS. It will lead you to the entrance of the access road, which is located directly across from the Sunoco station. Drive south down the dirt access road. **Please note this area of the park does not have a water fountain or a restroom.
