RECON- Shingle Creek Cleanup (Hunter's Creek MS)

Details
Join us Sunday August 31st as we help clean this beautiful waterway! As Shingle Creek is the northernmost head-water of the Everglades watershed, we strive to keep it as pristine as possible.
This spot used to be one of our regular launch points but we have not been out here in a few years so we are excited to see if there have been improvements since our last visit.
We will have at least 6 kayaks available to use for the cleanup. Our kayaks are available on a first arrival basis. Shoreline volunteers are welcome and will be provided with grabbers and buckets to use for the event.
We will be launching from the back of Shingle Creek Middle School, where the start of the Trailhead leads into Shingle Creek. Bathroom facilities will not be available during the event, though there is ample parking on-site.
As always, please bring a hat and water. Cleanup equipment (grabbers, buckets, gloves and bags) will be provided for the event. Shoreline volunteers and those with their own paddle-craft are always welcome to join us!
If the weather forecast is looking rough for the weekend, we will be rescheduling this event. Please keep an eye out for event updates on Saturday.
Hope to see you there!
