Join CGR for a ride to the deep south. Chuichu Road to Indian 15 is a classic local gateway south. As you leave Casa Grande and head south towards Santa Rosa, you’ll be riding through the heart of the Tohono O'odham Nation. It’s wide-open, peaceful country where the open range owns the road. The "Hole In The Mountain" (Indian 34) is a great, underrated landmark. Located near the village of Hickiwan off Indian 34, it’s a natural arch/hole high up in the volcanic rock of the mountains. It’s a striking sight against the desert sky—perfect for a "gander" and a group photo. Afterwards we will have lunch at Granny's Kitchen in Why. Granny’s Kitchen is legendary for its authentic, home-cooked Mexican food and homemade tortillas. After lunch and If the group isn't in a rush, Hwy 238 is much more enjoyable than I-8. It’s a straight shot through the Sonoran Desert National Monument, taking you past the Enid and Mobile sidings right into Maricopa and then back to Casa Grande.
