Going deep into depth psychology! This group is about helping to encounter and discuss the key concepts of Jungian psychology. Please note this is an purely intellectual and artistic endeavor, feel free to join.
Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss (1875-1961) psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who is famous for his works on depth psychology and founding of analytical psychology. While perusing an academic career he became acquainted with Sigmund Freud, who regarded Jung as his successor to move the field of psychoanalysis forward. After years their friendship ended, due in part of Jung’s insistence to pursue fringe interests as alchemy, astrology and the occult. Generating concepts such as collective unconscious, ahadow, anima, synchronicity and many more, Jung always had a strong presence in pop culture. This group is intended to explore these concepts to understand them better. Every event while focus on specific concepts as they were introduced by Jung and how they still pop up in current discussions and events.
So you are interested in psychology and especially depth psychology? This is the group for you.
This group and its events are free and will always be free. Anybody can join regardless of background (though some English skills are strongly advised). This is a private endeavor a not affiliated with any organization or company.

The Scientific Jung

“Since it is my firm conviction that the time for an all-inclusive theory, taking in and describing all the contents, processes, and phenomena of the psyche from one central viewpoint, has not yet arrived, I regard my concepts as tentative attempts to formulate a scientific psychology based in the first place upon immediate experience with human beings.”
‘Well, is it true?’ Is a question I have gotten often during the discussion parts of the events. True meaning, is it proven scientifically? Is there research? Is it still valid today? Allow me to make an attempt to answer this, as I see Jung at the same reign as Einstein: A brilliant man, whose thoughts and ideas were proven by later generations knowingly and unknowingly. How many of Jung’s hypotheses have been proven right?
This event will consist of two parts:
1. A presentation part by me (ca. 45 minutes), where elaborate on Jung’s ideas about the topic for the event using quotes from his whole body of work
2. A discussion part about the just presented topic, Jungian ideas or anything interesting that might come upJoin us to find out more

Affect & Emotions
·OnlineOnlineFind my work on Linktree: https://linktr.ee/cgjunghelpdesk
“Therefore people are usually afraid of the unconscious because it brings up emotions, and they don't want emotions; it is immoral, one should not have them. Sure enough it is immoral if you consider other people, and you ought to consider other people. Yet if you repress your emotions, you can never get at them to purify them.”
What is it that moves people? In antiquity our emotions were personified by the gods. It was the gods that made fall people in love or in rage. You beg the gods for mercy or ask them for their help. Still today emotions are feared and loved the gods, but what do they do to us? Jung explored this topic through out his life to answer this question.
