Sunday 8th June Coach to Sedbergh

Coach departs Bradford 09-00 ( Route 1 )
Keighley start 08-25
Sunday Coach to Sedbergh with 3 walks on offer or do your own walk or spend the day in Sedbergh site seeing and pottering around the shops .
This A walk was to have been led by Frank Sweeney but due to a bike accident he is unfortunately unable to lead the walk .

A Walk : Cleveland Way.

Temperance Inn , Cautley -Finnish in Sedbergh .
Distance 8.75 miles
Ascent 3200ft
The walk starts at the cross keys and very soon takes the steep Ascent to the summit of Yarlside .This is followed by the steep descent down to Bowerdale Head . A more gradual climb is then made to the highest point of the Calf .
From here we walk on to White Fell Head and here we leave Franks original route to descend down White Fell to pick up his route again when we get to Ivy Crag .We then climb up to Arant Haw via Swang Head .This is the second longest climb of the day . From Arant Haw the ridge line is taken then to ascend to Winder .From there the route takes a steep descent to our final destination at Sedbergh .
If Arant Haw is excluded then the route after Swang Head is omitted and paths instead are taken via Craggstones back to Sedbergh .

Rawthey Bridge to Sedbergh

We follow the river Rawthey down the Valley to Sedbergh .We go through the Hamlet of Northwaite then the route takes us over Cautley Beck , Rooker Gill to Crook Holme followed by Fawcett Bank to Ellertwaite ( The route may change here dependant on the time ) oterwise we go to Buckbank , Garsdale Bridge then Highside to follow the Dales Way to To Birks House then into Sedbergh for the end of the walk .

D , option do your own thing perhaps short walk or just spend the day in Sedbergh look round the shops ' enjoy coffee in the cafes .
