Who: Everyone is welcome!
What: The Sir Walter Raleigh Costume Ball 2026
Dancing, singing, and games for Valentine’s Day.
When: Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Where: Duke Memorial UMC, 504 W Chapel Hill St, Durham, NC 27701
Why: North Carolina has the only state capital named for a dashing pirate who was beheaded. What better theme for a costume ball hosted by our living history club?
How: Adults $25, Youth $15, under 6 Free! Wear your best Tudor finery (or any pre-1600 costume). No partner or special shoes required. Loaner garb will be available. All dances will be taught and called, so no experience is necessary. If you do square dance, contra, English country or Irish social dancing, you already know most of the steps.
