About us
This is a peer support group for fathers in the Champaign-Urbana area who are navigating difficult family situations like divorce, custody disputes, co-parenting with a high-conflict or abusive ex, false accusations, or orders of protection. If you're a dad going through it and feel like no one understands what you're dealing with, this group is for you.
We're dads who've been through the worst of it and are still standing. Some of us are in the thick of it right now. Some are on the other side. All of us are here because going through this alone makes everything harder.
At our meetups, we:
- Share our experiences openly and confidentially
- Talk through practical challenges, such as court preparation, documentation, co-parenting strategies, protecting your relationship with your kids.
- Help each other recognize unhealthy relationship patterns and warning signs early.
- Support each other through the emotional weight of it all
This is a healing-focused, judgment-free space. We are not an anti-anyone group. We understand the anger. Most of us have felt a level of rage we didn't know we were capable of, and you don't have to pretend that away here. But we also know from experience that anger, left unchecked, is exactly what works against you. If someone has made false claims about you, they may be counting on you to react in ways that turn those false claims into real ones. That's how you lose time with your kids. We've seen it happen, and we won't let it happen to you. We're here to help you channel that energy into smart decisions, not costly mistakes. We show up, we support each other, and we focus on being the best dads we can be through impossible circumstances.
