Accessibility and Inclusive Web Design

Details
Things on the web are often easy to pick up, but require more nuance to master. In this talk, we'll look at some of the often ignored aspects of HTML, CSS and JS (and ARIA) as well as established industry guidelines.
We'll see how people with various disabilities access the web (you might be surprised by the different kinds) and what mistakes developers can avoid so that people with disabilities have an equal chance of access to the web as everyone else. Making accessibile websites is not just something which is the right thing to do - it might even be legally required depending on the client. We'll see how inclusive design can help in general usability (especially on mobile), and talk about some of the tools which modern developers use to test for accessibility.
