***Only come to this week if you have experience from the other lessons or have some prior car repair experience***
Change Your Own is a series of group lessons in Atlanta GA for people with either no car knowledge or a beginner level of car knowledge where an ASE certified mechanic teaches regular people the basics of car repairs and maintenance. The mechanic will show you on YOUR OWN CAR so you will know exactly what to do when on your own. So if you aren't fortunate enough to have a dad or friend share their knowledge, come to one of our events and learn from an expert. Feel free to ask the mechanic anything you like regarding cars.
Come to one or come to them all, they run independently (excluding week 4). No electric vehicles sorry :(
Your mechanic for the series is Wesley, an excellent mechanic at RodVRod, very knowledgeable, patient and friendly, happy to help anyone out. Ask him anything.
Week 1 on September 6 is Charge & Change Your Own Battery.
Week 2 on September 13 is Change Your Own Flat Tire
Week 3 on September 20 is Bleed Your Own Coolant & Change Your Own Air Filter
Week 4 on September 27 is Change Your Own Brake Pads & Rotors (requires either completing the other lessons or having some DIY car experience)
What to bring:
Closed toe shoes (steel caps if you have any), clothes you don't mind ruining, something to drink, maybe a snack.
Make sure your trunk is clean because we will need to access your tools and spare tire. Check if you have a jack, no worries if not or if you don't know where to look, we can provide one, but you'll need one to do it on your own. Tools supplied.
***Please note start & finish time is an approximation. The lessons take place in an actual mechanic shop and if the business is delayed there is a chance it will start a little after start time. Also there is a chance it runs later than 2 hours so don't be stacking anything too close to the event :)***
Also please arrive on time as the mechanic will need time to organize the vehicles, can take 15-20 minutes. We will make sure you get your moneys worth if there are any delays :)
