Talk & Social - Blue Tech for a Blue Planet and How You Can Get Involved.

This month"s talk has been organised in collaboration with Transition Exeter who have been trying to tie this speaker down for sometime to share the amazing work he does with SeaGen.

As usual we will start the evening with a 20 minute talk to get you thinking, inspire and get involved with. We will then have an opportunity for questions before we break out into our usual Green Drinks social and you can continue to chat. Core members of Transition Exeter will also be there so you can find out how you can get involved in wider Transition Exeter activities.

Our guest speaker is Prof. Mike Allen, an associate professor at the University of Exeter and CSO of SeaGen. SeaGen are a group of inventors, risk takers and out of the box thinkers who believe that anything is possible and are using their imagination and skill to monitor and support nature, increase food and water security, replace oil based materials and decarbonise the atmosphere. In his talk, Mike will give a brief overview of His work and will talk about how we can partner with SeaGen to improve the health of our water bodies.

Green Drinks
We are a very friendly group and the group is hosted, so you will be greeted and introduced to others, so please dont worry about coming on your own. You will very quickly make new friends and settle in. After the talk and questions we have a relaxed evening for drinks (and food if you like) and free-flowing conversation. The evening starts at 1900 until pub closing but you can pop in at any point. If you do enjpy the evening we wpuld really appreciate a donation of £1 to cover the costs of running the meet up group.
