What we’re about

Chaos Cooking is a social community centred on cooking and conversations, where friends and soon-to-be friends cook and chat together while enjoying tasty dishes. We hold various types of events.

The Chaos Cooks
One member volunteers to host an event. Everyone, who signs up for the event, brings the ingredients for one dish (enough for a bunch of people to try a little bit) and then cooks together in one space, hence the name Chaos Cooking. It can get crazy but it is great fun. All recipes must be finished and space returned to its original condition by the end of the event, while everyone is socialising, enjoying drinks and eating tasty dishes. Some events have a particular foodie theme, or not, just as you feel...

  • Everyone MUST prepare something
  • Everyone MUST bring a drink to share.
  • At the end of the night everyone MUST pitch in to help restore the space to its original condition.
  • Oh, and try not to lose any fingers...

Be sure to bring any extra kitchen equipment required for your dish such as extra knives, pans, big bowls or chopping boards and Tupperware to take extra food home.

Some dish ideas from past events include; Vietnamese Summer Rolls, Gazpacho, Watermelon Basil Mint Feta Salad, Week-long marinated Pork, Portobello Mushroom Burgers, Curried Squash Soup...

Bring & Share
If you're eager to host an event but your kitchen space is limited how about hosting a Bring & Share event. Each guest brings their own ready-to-eat dishes and a drink of their choice, perhaps just needing to warm it up.

Taste Events
Are you a culinary enthusiast eager to share your masterful creations with others? You too can host an event! Guests will be asked to contribute a small fee as food will be provided. Just bring an interesting drink to share.

Theme Nights
Themes for nights can include festivals such as Christmas, Easter, or Halloween and types of food such as Indian, Tapas, Italian. Suggestions for themes are very welcome.

Volunteers
The success of this group depends upon YOU, the members. We need hosts for events. Your kitchen can be large or small. If needed we can lend additional cutlery, crockery and implements for the evening. In the summer events could be in the garden. Events can be of any type and we very much welcome suggestions for additional types of event. Can you be a host? If yes, please get in touch by sending me a Meetup message.
