Hike the Chaparral

Hosted By
Jane Collins B.

Details
See what's growing and blooming in the chaparral! This will be a short hike in hilly terrain (length, 2-3 miles; elevation change 200-300 feet). Could take 2 hours or longer depending on the group. We will be introduced to a very particular type of mixed species chaparral - dominated by redshank, chamise, and big berry manzanita. We will identify some blooming wildflowers, along with other common chaparral plants.
Location: between Aguanga and Anza, about a half-hour east of Temecula. Last two miles on an unpaved road - it's bumpy but can be driven by any car except extremely low clearance vehicles. Exact location and directions provided with RSVPs.
