Hike the Chaparral

Details

See what's growing and blooming in the chaparral! This will be a short hike in hilly terrain (length, 2-3 miles; elevation change 200-300 feet). Could take 2 hours or longer depending on the group. This area is dominated by redshank, chamise, and big berry manzanita. We will identify some blooming wildflowers, along with other common chaparral plants.

Location: between Aguanga and Anza, about a half-hour east of Temecula. Last two miles on an unpaved road - it's bumpy but can be driven by any car except extremely low clearance vehicles. Exact location and directions provided with RSVPs.
