Tiny Tuesdays, Baby and Toddler Creative Playgroup
Chapel Allerton Arts Centre, 31 Potternewton Lane, West Yorkshire, GBLooking for a baby and toddler play group with storytelling, singing and arts and crafts? Join Lisa on "Mini Mondays" at Chapel Allerton Arts Centre fo a morning of play, creativity and stories for little ones. Every Monday and Tuesday in term time, Lisa transforms our bright, airy gallery into a magical play space for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers and their grown-ups.
Read stories together, sing songs, get creative and explore, all in a calm, welcoming space with plenty of room to crawl, toddle and discover.
The cafe is open all morning with proper coffee, babyccinos, cakes, flapjacks, snacks and light lunches, so you can settle in and enjoy it too.
Suitable for babies through to pre-schoolers. Just turn up, no experience or artistic talent required (for you or them).
When: Mondays and Tuesdays 09:30-13.00, term time only

Encouraging children to find joy, creativity and confidence through stories, simple drama, play and crafting.
When: Mondays and Tuesdays, 11-11.45am term time only

Cost: £7.50 per child (siblings under 2, £2.50)Includes play before and after at Mini Mondays and Tiny Tuesdays.

Pay As You Feel Art Group: Northlight CIC
Chapel Allerton Arts Centre, 31 Potternewton Lane, West Yorkshire, GBLooking for a fun and friendly place to make art and get some support from resident artists? Come to Chapel Allerton Arts Centre & Cafe every Thursday morning and make art with other people for a couple of hours, and pay whatever feels right on the day for you. This event is run by the Northlight CIC
We have a gallery area, conservatory, studio and also terrace and garden where you can paint or draw. Find your perfect spot.
Free Parking at the Venue Car Park and Street Parking normally available.
Northlight CIC "Pay as you feel art group" is one of the most relaxed creative sessions in north Leeds. There is no tutor standing at the front, no set project, and no skill level you need to have reached before you are allowed in. Some people arrive with a painting they have been chipping away at for months. Some arrive having not drawn anything since school. Both are exactly right.
Bring your own work, or start something here.
If you have a project on the go, bring it. If you would rather turn up with nothing but a coffee and see what happens, we have plenty of materials for you to use, including cartridge paper, easels, acrylic paints, graphite, charcoal and drawing boards. Someone will happily help you get started if a blank sheet feels daunting.
Why people keep coming back
Making things alongside other people is a different experience to making things alone at the kitchen table. Conversation happens, or it doesn't, and both are fine. Two hours pass quickly. People tell us they leave lighter than they arrived, and that the Thursday morning slot has quietly become the part of the week they protect.
It is a genuinely mixed group: retired people, students, parents with a free morning, people working shifts, people who have moved to Leeds and want to meet someone. If you are looking for a sociable art group in Leeds where you can turn up on your own without it being awkward, this is that.
The cafe is open
The Chapel Allerton Arts Centre cafe bar opens from 10am, so you can pick up proper coffee, tea, and other drinks plus cake and snacks when ever you want.

Makers Morning: Northlight CIC Craft Group - Pay As You Feel, Chapel Allerton

Knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, model making, jewellery, bookbinding, lino cutting, sewing, whittling? Whatever it is you make. bring it along on a Friday morning to the Chapel Allerton Arts Centre and make it here, in good company with the Northlight CIC team, in a room and an atmosphere and support system built for exactly this.
Makers Morning is a pay as you feel craft group in north Leeds run by Northlight CIC located in the Chapel Allerton Arts Centre.
Three hours just for yourself and to make something you love.
Most of us have a craft we love and a week that keeps eating the hours we meant to give it. The half finished jumper. The box of fabric. The thing you keep meaning to get back to. Putting a repeating slot in the diary, somewhere that is not your house, with people who are doing the same, is a really powerful way to build a routine that helps you make real progress.
Good company, no pressure
There is a particular pleasure in making things alongside other people. Fun conversation, sharing tips and tricks, making new friends and making plans for future projects
Makers of every craft and every level of experience are welcome. Come with a friend or come on your own. Plenty of people arrive on their own the first time and we are a friendly bunch so you don't feel alone for very long!
Coffee worth turning up for
The Chapel Allerton Arts Centre Cafe bar is open through the morning, serving Yorkshire roasted coffee, tea, drinks cake and snacks. It is a normal paid cafe, separate from the pay as you feel donation for the session.
Spread out, or sit outside
There is plenty of room to spread out here and when the weather is kind, the terrace and the garden are yours too, and there are worse ways to spend a Friday morning than sewing in the sun with a coffee beside you.
Easy to get to
We have our own free car park, and the street parking around Potternewton Lane is free and usually easy on a weekday morning. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
