Are you looking for somewhere to do crafting with other people? What are you interested in? Knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting, model making, jewellery, bookbinding, lino cutting, sewing, whittling? Whatever it is you make. bring it along on a Friday morning to the Chapel Allerton Arts Centre and make it here, in good company with the Northlight CIC team, in a room and an atmosphere and support system built for exactly this.

Makers Morning is a pay as you feel craft group in north Leeds run by Northlight CIC located in the Chapel Allerton Arts Centre.

Three hours just for yourself and to make something you love.

Most of us have a craft we love and a week that keeps eating the hours we meant to give it. The half finished jumper. The box of fabric. The thing you keep meaning to get back to. Putting a repeating slot in the diary, somewhere that is not your house, with people who are doing the same, is a really powerful way to build a routine that helps you make real progress.

Good company, no pressure

There is a particular pleasure in making things alongside other people. Fun conversation, sharing tips and tricks, making new friends and making plans for future projects

Makers of every craft and every level of experience are welcome. Come with a friend or come on your own. Plenty of people arrive on their own the first time and we are a friendly bunch so you don't feel alone for very long!

Coffee worth turning up for

The Chapel Allerton Arts Centre Cafe bar is open through the morning, serving Yorkshire roasted coffee, tea, drinks cake and snacks. It is a normal paid cafe, separate from the pay as you feel donation for the session.

Spread out, or sit outside

There is plenty of room to spread out here and when the weather is kind, the terrace and the garden are yours too, and there are worse ways to spend a Friday morning than sewing in the sun with a coffee beside you.

Easy to get to

We have our own free car park, and the street parking around Potternewton Lane is free and usually easy on a weekday morning. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
