Hedge planting
Details
Hi team Chapter Meadows! Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet this year, the escaping cows demanded a lot of our attention!
Winter is now upon us which means planting season! We would like to invite you back to the meadows for another hedge planting session with the help of our friends at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust. We will be looking to plant another 100m of hedgerow, similar to the event we ran last January.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference for wildlife and the local community while enjoying fresh air, great company, and the satisfaction of giving back to nature.
What to expect:
- Arrival & welcome: Meet at planting area in the south east field as highlighted in red on the attached picture (not the pin on the map location). What3words location is ///reds.stamp.deal.
- Introduction & briefing: We’ll share a quick overview and show you how to plant the hedgerow.
- Planting time: Dig in and help create a thriving habitat for birds, insects, and other wildlife.
What to bring
- Wellies/sturdy footwear (mud is guaranteed!)
- Weather appropriate clothing (layers/waterproofs)
- Gardening gloves
- A flask/water bottle
Who Should Join:
No prior experience is needed; we’ll provide all the tools and guidance you’ll need.
Just to note:
Chapter Meadows is on a floodplain. There’s a strong chance of flooding, so the event may need to be rearranged at short notice — we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.
Parking:
Limited parking is available at the entrance to Slingpool Walk just off Bromwhich Road.
