About us
Charleston Plein Air Artists is a relaxed, welcoming group that meets at scenic outdoor locations throughout Charleston County to paint, sketch, and photograph on location.
All artistic media and skill levels are welcome—from complete beginners to experienced artists. Our focus is on enjoying the creative process, connecting with fellow artists, and being inspired by the landscape.
This is a supportive, non-critical group where encouragement and community come first. Membership is free, and everyone is welcome to join us outdoors and create.

Plein Air Paint Out @ArtFest 2026
Mt Pleasant towne Center, 1218 Belk Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC, USWe have been invited by the Nicole Seitz, co-chair of the Town of Mount Pleasant Culture, Arts & Pride Commission, to participate in the the second annual Plein Air Paint Out at the March 21 ArtFest at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre! Artists should fill out the linked exhibitor form, send it to events@tompsc.com or return it AND register in person the morning of the event. Click here for more details.
The event will take place at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre and conclude with finalists. A Town Hall exhibit for finalists' work is TBA. I hope you will join me there!
