Happy New Year! Charleston JS is excited to kick off the new year!
We have two presentations this meetup:
- Intro to Funtional Programming with RamdaJS (Robert Pearce)
- Meet Deno a TS/JS Server Runtime (Tom Wilson)
RamdaJS is a functional utility library for javascript, utility libraries provide a set of commonly used functions that can enable a very declarative coding style, reduce the code surface, and reduce repetitive bugs. Robert will introduce Ramda and some of its super powers to productive code patterns.
Deno, the TS/JS server runtime, that is bringing the server to the edge. If you are part of the Javascript community you have heard of NodeJS, NodeJS gave developers the ability to write JavaScript on the server and has exploded over the last 13 years! A few years ago the original core developers of NodeJS, started a new project called Deno. This project aims to improve on some of the design issues found in the NodeJS runtime. At this meetup we will dive into Deno and share some opinions on why we believe it is the future of TS/JS server runtimes.
