Cedar Point Environmental Park

The Intro Class starts on November 3rd at 12pm at Cedar Point Environmental Park. Followed by 4 weekly field trips on: November 10th, 17th, 24th, December 1st, and a rain date of December 8th.

Michael Weisensee is an avid birder and an aspiring bird photographer. He is a former VP of the Venice Area Audubon Society and continues to lead Bird Walks for VAAS. In addition to this Michael is a Florida Master Naturalist Program Instructor for Charlotte County, teaching Bird Lectures.

Participants will have the opportunity to see real mosquito samples and specimens up close while learning how to recognize different types of mosquitoes and understand the differences between species. We’ll explore where mosquitoes breed, how their populations grow, and what environmental conditions make certain areas more attractive to them.
